[www.inewsguyana.com] – Children and Adults on Sunday, March 2 joined the Guyana Tennis Association (GTA) in celebrating World Tennis Day Observances at the National Racquet Centre in Woolford Ave.
During an interview, representative of the Guyana Tennis Association Grace McCalman said that the turnout was favorable from both adults and children.
“The turnout this morning from the kids was good, we had about 60 young children out here,” said McCalman.
Activities for children were scheduled aged 5 to 14 years old were held this morning from 9:00am to 11:30am with sessions both on and off the courts.
The afternoon sessions were held mainly for the adults in the sport and who are desirous of being involved with the sport. That took place from 13:00 to 16:00.
Meanwhile, McCalman also indicated that persons were briefed on the sport programs of which several persons inquired about how to get signed up.
March 3 is World Tennis day but due to school and work, the GTA decided to hold their activities today.
