[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Power and Light Inc., (GPL) says that it is scheduled to complete all Transmission and Distribution (T&D) inclusive of Line Maintenance and Generation Planned Maintenance activities on December 14, 2013.
According to GPL’s Network Manager, Shaun Hamlet, GPL’s Technical Staff is working around-the-clock to complete all maintenance works for the holiday seasons.
“This is to ensure that the Company delivers the highest quality of power supply to its customer base,” GPL noted in a statement.
The Company is at the same time appealing to customers to conserve electricity.
“Simple actions such as turning off appliance(s) when not in use will result in savings.”
As the demand for electricity increases during the festive season, GPL customers are known to suffer, as the power fluctuates frequently.
