[www.inewsguyana.com] – Three new generating sets have arrived for the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) Inc.The sets were received by representatives of GPL and Prime Minister Samuel Hinds.
According to GPL the three generating sets is valued US $32 million dollars and will be incorporated into the 26 Megawatt Power Plant at Vreed-en-Hoop, West Bank Demerara.
Each set has the capacity to generate 8.6 Megawatts of power.
GPL’s Chief Executive Officer Bharat Dindyal told reporters that all the necessary
equipment is in place for the transfer of these engines.Meanwhile, Prime Minister Samuel
Hinds says these sets will add to power supplied to the Demerara and Berbice grids. He
added that these sets will definitely not be a loss to the power company.
