[www.inewsguyana.com] – Finance Minister Winston Jordan announced that effective Thursday, August 20 fuel prices at the state-owned Guyana Oil Company (GuyOil) would be reduced.
This is in sync with the prices for fuel on the international market which have dropped drastically over the past months. Jordan revealed that diesel will be retailed at $168 down from $174 while gasoline will be sold at $199 down from $210.
The Finance Minister also hopes that the reductions in fuel will lead to the Guyanese people having more disposable cash in their pockets. [Jomo Paul]

this good for persons not operating taxi, try operating a taxi service and see how much you will be saving
That’s too bad Sly, I am hoping they don’t do that be fair with the public.
You mean the taxi and mini bus operators? Just wait and see how long they will take to pass on the savings to the hard pressed travelling public. They will have some other excuse; cost of tyres and spare parts etc
Good for the people.
