A 33-year-old gold miner who claimed that he was robbed at Takatu Backdam, Puruni Main Road of a quantity of raw gold by a cutlass wielding female, among others, was also placed into police custody after officers found an unlicenced gun at the camp.
The gold miner reportedly called the police, stating that he was robbed on Friday at around 11:00h.
Officers from the Bartica Police Station responded and during the course of their investigation found the unlicenced single barrel shotgun.
According to the Police, five persons inclusive of the victim and a female, are in custody assisting with the ongoing investigations.
