[www.inewsguyana.com] – West Indies Captain Darren Sammy says that his side needs to go big or go home come Tuesday, April 1.
The side faces Pakistan for a spot in the semi finals of the ICC World Twenty20 Championship being contested in Bangladesh.
Title-holders West Indies have already had some big games in but none bigger than Tuesday’s do-or-die clash with Pakistan.
“It’s a do or die for us. [It’s] go big or go home. This is an important game against Pakistan, who is playing very well at the moment. But as we said before we left home, we came here to retain the title, so we will give this all we have. We’re going to do everything to defend our title,” Sammy told reporters.
The pair which is boasted as the most unpredictable teams in the tournament thus far will clash Tuesday morning from 09:30 with only one winner predicted.
The West Indies have long had a weakness against spin and Pakistan boasts of a fleet of quality spin bowling in Saeed Ajmal, Shoaib Malik and Shaid Afridi among others, posing threat that gives them the advantage.
