The Guyana Manufacturing and Service Association today hosted a seminar on how to clinch the best deals through win-win negotiations…
Executives from 10 companies were today exposed to a training session designed to refine their negotiating skills.
The seminar is being hosted by the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association and is being facilitated by Canadian Trade professional Sandra Ann Baptiste.
The topics to be covered include the styles of communication, preparing for negotiations, building relationships and trust, maintaining emotional control and managing a potential or existing impasse.
GMSA President Clinton Williams said mastering win-win negotiation skills is of significant importance to companies operating in a globalised environment and its challenges.
According to him, it also helps businesses to sustain a competitive advantage.
Meanwhile keynote speaker, at the event, Ambassador Robert Kopecky of the European Union Delegation, encouraged participants to be open to new advantages and challenges.
Ambassador Kopecky notes that difficulties and conflict are important in learning the art of negotiation. He cites the case of the Guyana Parliament as an example. [Delicia Fletcher]
