[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club will stage its 2014 season opening endurance race this Sunday at the South Dakota Circuit.
The event will feature a number of teams competing in the three hour drive in which the event derives its name.
Drivers will have three hours to see which team can complete the most amount of laps around the large circuit. They are entitled a team of drivers and a technical crew to fix any problems that may occur during the race.
Entrants are classed into categories based on the type of car and engine size with them racing within classes and for the overall record.
According to organizer Afraz Allie, they are looking to get the year rolling off with events every month for the motor racing fraternity.
He indicated that Sunday’s event begins at 12:00 and will feature drivers such as Mark Veiria, Andrew King and Kevin Jeffrey all taking to the black top in a different formula.
Some of the sponsors onboard include Banks Dih Limited, Redi Mix, Medicare, Secure Innovations and Concepts, BM Soat, Rays Auto Sales, Mohammeds Enterprise and A&R Giwanram Printery Incorporated with admission being free.
