The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) is alerting the public that it is not engaged in any exercise of calling persons on the telephone to request their personal information and as such persons should be aware and not facilitate same.

August 2 2018, GEORGETOWN – The Guyana Elections Commission is urging citizens to exercise caution when answering telephone calls requesting personal information under the pretense of GECOM.
Several persons have contacted the Commission to query the nature of the exercise after receiving anonymous telephone calls requesting personal information. Please be advised that the Commission is not engaged in any such exercise.
GECOM is therefore urging citizens to be extremely cautious and not to provide any information to the callers who are pretending to be from the Commission as their motive is unknown and can be potentially harmful
