The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Sergeant who was involved in an accident on Saturday has been placed on life support as he continues to battle for his life at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Georgetown Public Hospital.
A source told INews today that Police investigators are anxiously waiting for the soldier to regain consciousness so that they can question him to hear his version of what led to the fatal accident.
Reports are Sergeant Woodroofe, of Crane, West Coast Demerara, was crossing the road at Main and Church Streets in Georgetown, when he was struck by a speeding minibus.
The Sergeant, who was on duty at the time, was seconded to the Intelligence Unit’s Military Criminal Investigation Department.
