[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) retained their title when the 22nd Yamaha Caribs sevens rugby tournament was held on Sunday, October 26.
GDF dispatched the University of Guyana (UG) Wolves with a 19-12 win at the National Park rugby field.
National sprinter, Patrick King was named player of the day, scoring two tries for the army men while R Huston had a try; Dwayne Schooder had two conversions in the win.
Meanwhile, UG Lance Adonis and Ryan Dey scored a try each while Godfrey Broomes converted once for UG, who has now been in four consecutive rugby finals.
The tournament was also a proving ground for payers who are aiming to be shortlisted for national duty in November.
