[www.inewsguyana.com] – Members of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) and the Guyana Defense Force (GDF) could soon be in hot water for posting photographs of themselves holding guns and ammunition which are the property of the GPF and GDF.
The postings which are usually seen on Facebook, Blackberry Messenger, Instagram and other social networking sites and often accompanied by some unpleasant wordings, have now become the subject of discussion.
Chief of Staff of the GDF, Brigadier Mark Phillips said that the issue has been engaging the attention of the army and very soon all serving ranks of the GDF will receive correspondence advising them against the practice.
Additionally, Crime Chief of the GPF, Leslie James said the issue will be brought to the attention of the Police Commissioner, following which a decision will be made on the way forward.
James said that posting of such photographs has implications for the Police Force.
