The Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry Limited (GBTI) made a donation on Friday at the Bank’s Head Office in Kingston to the Civil Defence Commission (CDC) towards the hurricane relief effort.
Handing over the donation on behalf of the Bank was Chairman of the Board, Robin Stoby, S.C., who noted that the Bank recognises the need for a collaborative effort in lending a helping hand to those countries which were ravaged by the recent spate of Hurricanes Irma, Jose and Maria.
In so doing, he said that GBTI has always been an entity that lends a helping hand in these times when it is most needed especially to our Sister islands and he notes that this donation will go a long way in bringing much needed relief.
Receiving the donation was Colonel (Ret’d) Chabilall Ramsarup, Director General of the CDC who expressed his gratitude to the Bank for coming on board and assisting in bringing relief to the islands who have been devastatingly affected.
Also representing the Bank was Edward Beharry, one of the Directors of the Bank, who also reiterated the same sentiments as the Chairman.
GBTI says it “sees this donation as a way of exemplifying its Corporate Social Responsibility which can benefit thousands of affected fellow Caribbean citizens.”
