[www.inewsguyana.com] – Boxer will don their gloves and trounces to box off the 2014 edition of the National Intermediate tournament set for the East Ruimveldt Community Centre Ground more commonly known California Square.
With the event scheduled to begin Saturday [August 30] from 18:00hrs under floodlights, exciting bouts are expected according to President of the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA), Steve Ninvalle.
Tweleve bouts the least will be carded for each night with the final night being Sunday as seven clubs have already indicated their interest in the event.
Ninvalle, however, believes that the action on each night will be “fiery” as gyms from Linden, Berbice and Essequibo are expected to arrive in Georgetown for the event.
Ninvalle went as far as to note that each bout will be “crowd pleasers” for the boxing fans as the likes of Essequibo have gotten better while Berbice has been encamped for five weeks.
The gyms set to make their presence felt at the event are as follows: Forgotten Youth Foundation, Rosehall Town Jammers, Essequibo Boxing Gym, Young Achievers, the Guyana Defence Force, Carib Boxing Gym from Linden and the Republican Boxing Gym.
