[www.inewsguyana.com] – Former Chief of Staff of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Rear Admiral Gary Best and People’s National Congress/Reform (PNC/R) stalwart, Aubrey Norton have been appointed to serve as Presidential Advisors to President David Granger.
Norton and Best have been appointed along with Brigadier Edward Collins, according to a statement from the Government Information Agency.
Norton has been appointed to serve as Presidential Advisor on Youth Empowerment, while Best was appointed as Presidential Advisor on the Environment, and Collins as Presidential Advisor on National Security.
Norton has held several positions in the PNCR including that of General Secretary. He has had strained relations with the PNC/R in the recent past more so at the Party’s biennial congress in 2014 when he challenged PNC/R Leader, David Granger for the post but later dropped out claiming that the elections were rigged.
Meanwhile, Collins has also served as Chief of Staff for the GDF.

I think HE has misplaced the two former army men capabilities and strengths and their roles should be exchanged to reflect that.
Norton should be Advisor on governance and international relations.
