[www.inewsguyana.com] –The 18 – year – old male teen who accused 10 men of gang raping him on New Year’s Eve has now implicated a former female colleague.
The teen’s mother told iNews during a telephone interview on Tuesday, February 24 that her son has now pointed to the female as the person who aided the others to sexually assault him on December 30, 2014 at Vreed – En – Hoop, West Coast Demerara.
The mother said the young lady is known to the family and whenever she passes their home it sends her son into an emotional rage.
The rape victim has been, “going in and out of his senses” according to his mother, but was able to name three of his perpetrators to police recently.
Ranks from the Leonora Police Station, West Coast Demerara, recently visited the family and took a statement from the victim.
The distraught mother told iNews that her son would lie in bed and recount to the family what occurred. “Right after then is when he would start talking things that don’t make sense, he taking on this thing bad.”
The victim remains fearful for his life and has not ventured out of his home since returning from the hospital. He continues to relate to his mother that he is being “watched” by his perpetrators.
The mother spoke of the financial strain the situation has had on her family, but expressed gratitude to those who have come to their aid. She remains hopeful that her son’s perpetrators will be brought to justice soon.
The 17 – year – old who is accused of leading the gang of nine others to rape his friend has since denied any involvement and knowledge of the incident.
He was arrested by the Police but was subsequently released on bail. The suspect and victim had reportedly worked together at the same supermarket.
The medical report which confirmed that the victim was raped multiple times was handed over to ranks at the Leonora Police station.
