[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) released the names of both their male and female national squads to start training for the upcoming Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Championships, scheduled for June 6-21 in Tortola, British Virgin Islands.
The shortlisted male squad will be made up of 31 males while the female squad will have 25 players.
Both squads are expected to be boosted during the training sessions with the addition of overseas based players, who will be coming to Guyana to try out for selection on the respective Guyana National Basketball Teams.
Darcel Harris is the Head Coach for the Men Squad and Julian Haynes is the Head Coach for the Women Squad.
Practice sessions are currently underway at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 19:00h-23:00ho and on Sundays from 08:00h to 12:00h.
