[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Amateur Power lifting Federation will this coming Sunday host its National Championships for the best lifters in the country.
During a recent interview, member of the organizing committee Paul Adams indicated that they are on track in spite of some hiccups.
“We’ve already secured a venue and we would have chartered how many lifters we would have expecting. with a contingent of 34-40 lifters we plan to run the competition off in one day, we plan to start at 10:00 and that usually runs us until 5 (17:00).”
The G.A.P.F. member indicated that they will have 12 categories competing with registration closing Thursday.
He indicated that a cost of $2000 per competitor will be charged while there will be no late registration.
Adams said that they are keen on participation from all three counties in Demerara, Berbice and Essequibo with builders being given trophies in recognition of their hard work.
The event which is heavily subsidized by fitness express begins at 10:00hrs. Spectators are required to pay $500 dollars at the door.
