[www.inewsguyana.com] – Three employees of Muneshwers Limited appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Friday (February 21) facing separate charges of embezzlement.
Subrina Rahamat of Well Road, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that being employed as a clerk; she embezzled the sum of $52,014,249, between June 5, 2012 and February 9, 2013, in Georgetown.
Bibi Twahida Ali also denied the allegations which stated that between August 18, 2013 and April 13, 2013, in Georgetown, she embezzled $6,466,869 in cash.
The third defendant, Bibi Shiroon Ali also pleaded not guilty. It is alleged that between July 11 and October 3, 2013, she embezzled $470,684 from her employer.
They were also represented by Attorney – at – Law Nigel Hughes, who applied for bail, which was granted in the sum of $100,000 each. The women were previously charged with several counts of embezzlement committed against Muneshwers Limited. They are scheduled to reappear in Court on March 14.
