Former Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) prosecutor, Oswald Massiah, was found dead in his car early this morning, in Parika, East Bank Essequibo (EBE).
According to Police Commander of the “D” Division, Leslie James, the man’s body was found in his car while it was parked at the Parika Ferry Stelling.
He was subsequently taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
There were no obvious marks of violence on the man’s body.
Massiah had been ill for some time now.
After serving many years as the Special Prosecutor at CANU, Massiah retired recently.
