[www.inewsguyana.com] – Cleveland Forde delivered a top performance to retain his AINLIM 10k title on Sunday morning [August 31] when the race ended in front of the Neal and Massy main branch.
Forde cruised comfortably to the finish line to clock a time of 33:20.12s to finish ahead of Cleveland Thomas with a time 33:48.81s.
Police athlete, Nathaniel Giddings came in third with a time of 34:07.64s while Dennis Horatio was fourth in 34:40.52s. Winston Missenger closed out the top five with a time of 35:34.08s.
Meanwhile, USA based Guyanese Euleen Jossiah-Tanner was her usual dominant self, winning the female version of the race in a time of 39:25.89s.
Alika Morgan who clocked 40:37.75s for second finished ahead of Andrea Foster who crossed the line after 42:06.76s for third. Carlissa Atkinson was fourth in 45:18.71 while Jevina Straker finished fifth in 45:06.13s.
Meanwhile Grivon Grant won the boy’s juniors category with a time of 35:27.19s while Shontel Hinds was able to win the junior girl’s top prize with a time of 45:14.56s.
The master’s 40-55 males was won by Eon Archibald in 38:40.77 while Llewellyn Gardner won the men’s 55 years and over in a time of 41:14.71s. Alisha Fortune topped the women’s master’s field with a time of 52:48.77s.
President of the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) Aubreu Hutson congratulated the athletes on their performances while CEO of Neal and Massy Deo Persaud noted that the company will continue to host the event in the future.
