[www.inewsguyana.com] – Captain John Flores was re-elected unopposed as President of the Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) on Sunday, January 25 after the federation held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Guyana Olympic Association headquarters.
Flores will serve his second term as President while Levi Nedd was given the nod as Vice-president.
Nicholas Fraser returned unopposed as Secretary of the federation while Shontel Maloney was elected unopposed as Assistant Secretary.
Leota Langford was elected Treasurer while Raymond Archer was elected as Assistant Treasurer both by majority vote. Mark Bradford was named as marketing officer by majority voted as well.
The GVF will meet for the first time this year on February 7where a Public Relations Officer will be named.
Further, the federation aims to throw support behind the newly resuscitated Essequibo Volleyball Association and will be working to develop the sport in schools.
The federation also thanked the GOA and Dr Karen Pilgrim for their input in the successful hosting of the AGM. Dr Pilgrim was the Returning Officer for the elections.
