[www.inewsguyana.com] – Head of the Presidential Secretariat and Cabinet Secretary Dr. Roger Luncheon has revealed that public servants will receive their annual five percent wage increase retroactive from January 2013.
When asked about the issue at his post Cabinet Media Briefing on Wednesday, November 20, Dr. Luncheon said that a formal announcement will be made soon, once the formal approval is given.
“The Minister of the Public Service reflected on the output of the engagements of the Ministry yesterday (November 19) at Cabinet and I think it would be fair to say that the conclusions that one could draw is that there will be salary increase and it is not likely to increase the planned five percent that is in the budget,” Dr. Luncheon told reporters.
