[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Demerara Fire & General Insurance Company on Saturday (October 12) hosted Guyana’s first Vintage Car Exhibition.

Speaking to iNews, Operations Manager of the hosting company Melissa DeSantos explained that the event was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to give back to society.

“The show is to generate interest of the Demerara Fire & General Insurance Company, a lot of people are only aware that Demerara Mutual exists, the life company but the Demerara Fire & General Insurance Company is a subsidiary of the Life Company  to generate business and get a bigger market share” she added.

The exhibition saw cars dating back as far as the 1930’s on display and probably worth millions than it was originally bought for. Entry for participants and patrons were free.

DeSantos explained that it is the company’s hope to have the one day event held once annually. Participants expressed great appreciation to have a specific platform on which they can showcase their merchandise.

There were 14 cars on display at yesterday’s event with most in driving condition.
