A fire of unknown origin ravaged through the Fazia’s Collection building located at America Street and Avenue of the Republic, Georgetown, just before noon today.
The building housed several clothing stores.
When INews visited the scene, firefighters were seen busy trying to contain the blaze. Members of the Guyana Police Force were also seen providing assistance to businesses in ensuring that whatever goods they had were secured.
Several of the affected business owners related that while it is too early to quantify their losses, it could be in the millions.
