Students and teachers were met with a brief moment of panic this morning after a small fire erupted in a sixth form classroom in the Queen’s College building.
Based on information received, smoke was seen by students emanating from the classroom and they reported it to the school’s administration at around 08:30hrs.
A large gathering of children were spotted in the school’s compound as the Fire Service reacted promptly, averting a possible disaster. It was later discovered that the fire began after a light bulb blew in the classroom.
There are no reported injuries or significant damage to the compound.
Investigations are ongoing.
