The third and final report of the Women and Gender Equality (WGEC) was this morning presented to Speaker of the National Assembly, Raphael Trotman.
The 2013 report includes several recommendations in relation to improving the work that the commissioners have been doing.
Chairperson of the WGEC Indranie Chandarpal related that the report captures all the work of the commission.
She noted that they have listened to hundreds of reports from various individuals coming out of a number of workshops and outreaches across the country.
She explained that the 2013 report includes a number of recommendations for domestic violence and trafficking in persons among others.
Chandarpal expressed the hope that the recommendations would become a reality.
Speaker Trotman in his remarks noted that the report will be given to Members of Parliament during the next sitting before they go into recess.
