[www.inewsguyana.com] – A female passenger in a boat that was travelling in the Mazaruni River earlier this morning perished after a collision with another vessel in the vicinity of an area known as ‘All- Boys’.
As a result of the collision, a fire ensued and quickly engulfed the wooden vessel causing the female passenger to be burned 
extensively, and subsequently perished.
According to a release from the Maritime Administration Department (MARAD), “One is an aluminum hull passenger vessel and is propelled by two water jets. The other is a wooden passenger/cargo boat and was being propelled by a 200 Horsepower outboard engine.”
MARAD said a team has been dispatched to theMazaruni area to commence an investigation into this incident.
