The female suspect who was arrested, in connection with the robbery under arms committed last Friday at the home of Peoples Progressive Party (PPP) General Secretary and Member of Parliament (MP) Clement Rohee, was today charged with two counts of robbery under arms.
The accused Corlette Parks, 49, of 4692 Postal Housing Scheme, Georgetown, appeared before Magistrate Lambert at the Providence Magistrate’s Court and pleaded not guilty to both charges. She was remanded to prison until January 11, 2017.
Parks along with three others reportedly invaded the home of Rohee, a former Home Affairs Minister, and tied up and assaulted his two maids demanding from them Rohee’s gold and valuables. They eventually ransacked the place and escaped, with an undisclosed amount of cash and valuables, via a rented vehicle which was allegedly arranged by Parks to commit the robbery.
The woman, whose Identification Card (ID) was found in the getaway vehicle, on Tuesday had turned herself over to the Police and was aiding them in their investigations, as it was disclosed that she divulged the names of the other three suspects who are yet to be arrested for the crime.
