[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 20 –year – old robbery with violence accused was granted $100,000 bail by Magistrate Annette Singh at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Osafo Bobb, a Mason, of East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the offence, which alleged that he robbed Timeka Eastman of a handbag, a blackberry cellular phone, two silver bands and cash $30,000, totaling $118,000.
Police Prosecutor Adonni Innis told the Court that on the said day around 23:45 hrs Eastman went to Congress Place in search of her boyfriend, when Bobb walked up to her, held onto her bag and hit her in the face with a bottle.
He relieved her of the articles and made good his escape. The defendant was picked out during an identification (ID) parade which was held on February 03.
The defendant, a father of two was represented by Attorney-at-Law, Adrian Thompson, who told the Court that his client is not a a fight risk and has no difficulty complying with any conditions by the Court.
Bail was granted and the matter was adjourned to February 25, for the filing of statements.
