[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 45 – year – old father of three appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman, where he was charged with the illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
It is alleged that Keshon Williams on October 16, 2015 at Alberttown, Georgetown had in his possession nine live rounds of .45 ammunition, along with one .45 pistol, without being the holder of a firearm lisence.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and according to his lawyer, Williams was never found in physical possession of the firearm and ammunition nor was he the title owner of the vehicle in which the alleged items were found.
But according to the Prosecution, under a caution statement, the accused admitted to the police that the items were his. The Prosecution further revealed that Williams told the police that he found the weapon and ammunition and decided to keep it for his protection.
Bail was denied and he will make his next court appearance on December 02.
