Three weeks have passed since 21-year-old Brian Basdeo was struck down and killed in a hit and run on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway and the police have not charged anyone for the crime.
As such, the family of the dead man has accused the police of being slothful in their investigations.
Sister of the now dead man, Sherry Basdeo said she has been making constant contact with the police but she is being told that investigations are ongoing.
The distraught and unsatisfied woman said she has been told by the police that they do not have enough evidence to pursue the main suspect, although the car suspected to have been involved in the accident was found in his Grove, East Bank Demerara home.
The relative of the suspect have reportedly told police that the damage on the car was as a result of prior accident. At that time, the suspect’s brother was driving the car.
Traffic Chief, Linden Isles had told the Guyana Times that the matter remains under investigations. Twenty-one-year-old Brian Basdeo was killed on January 19, while another was injured in the accident.
