The Explore Guyana 2017 Magazine was unveiled on Saturday evening at the Umana Yana in Kingston, Georgetown.
The event was organised by the Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana (THAG), in collaboration with the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) and entailed the launching of the Magazine and announcement of THAG Essay Competition winners.
Held under the theme “Clean it and Mean it”, the competition was divided into two categories to include both primary and secondary school students. The theme focused on the importance of a clean and healthy environment, which once achieved must be maintained.
Students were asked to share their contributions to keeping the environment clean and elaborate on its positive impact on tourism. This is the third annual THAG Essay Competition.
Minister of Business with responsibility for Tourism, Dominic Gaskin; Publisher of Explore Guyana, Lokesh Singh; and President of THAG, Andrea de Caires, delivered brief remarks at the ceremony.
The Magazine is the 20th edition and is regarded as the Official Tourist Guide of Guyana 2017. (Carl Croker)
