[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Former Police Officer was today granted $500,000 bail by Magistrate Ann McLennan after he allegedly stole over $7M from the Guyana Police Force.
Alli Subhan pleaded not guilty to the offence which alleged that between October 1, 2013 and August 8, 2014 at Leonora, West Coast Demerara while being a clerk or servant at the Guyana Police Force, he stole out of the possession of his employer, $7.6 million.
Despite the quantum involved in this matter, prosecutor Mansfield made no objections to bail being granted.
He was also ordered to lodge his passport at the court and to report to the Leonora Police station every Friday.
Subhan will return to court on December 2 at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court.
