[www.inewsguyana.com] – An 18 – year – old first year Student of the Essequibo Technical Institute (ETI) at Anna Regina has ended his life by hanging himself with a piece of rope. He was found hanging from a tree.
According to reports, the student attended the Institute on Tuesday, May 13 and returned home before committing suicide just after 16:00h.
The teenager known as ‘Vikash’ lived with his grandmother, whom he had resided with since a baby. The death of the student sent shock waves across the commercial center of the Town.
Many residents of the Anna Regina New Housing Scheme have described the teenager as a very quiet, kind and a loving person.
Several persons have suggested that the student committed suicide because of problems he was facing in a love affair. Police officers, who rushed to the scene cut the body from the tree and transported it to the Suddie mortuary. Investigations are in progress.
