Mohamed Zabam, 66, of Anna Regina Housing Scheme, Region Two (Pomeroon- Supenaam) succumbed after he drank a quantity of poisonous substance. Zabam was rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital by relatives almost four days ago.
The deceased was among three men who were exposed to various poisonous substances, in three separate instances earlier this week.
According to reports, Zabam was a habitual drinker and would usually roam the area.
Meanwhile, the two other poison victims who were hospitalised, reportedly took self-discharge from the hospital.
A 29-year-old from Huist Diren on the Essequibo Coast was hospitalised after he reportedly inhaled pesticide while spraying his rice field; while a 21-year-old labourer from Pomona Housing Scheme attempted to end his life due to ‘relationship problems’.
