An Essequibo Coast man who allegedly sexually molested his stepdaughter was remanded to prison by Magistrate Sunil Scarce. The man, age 32, appeared at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court.
The prosecution is contending that the man was arrested on March 4 for having sex with a family member and, as such, was charged for the offence of sexual activity with a child family member under Section 16 (3a) of the Sexual Offences Act, Chapter 8:03.
It is alleged that he committed the act between 2010 and 2017.
The case will continue at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court on March 24.
