A 58-year-old man from lot 69 Jib village on the Essequibo Coast was on New Year’s morning discovered lying motionless in his daughter’s home.
Dead is Roopnarine Lall who was at the time overnighting at his daughter’s home.
Based on information received, the daughter and her family left the Essequibo Coast and went on holiday and had asked their now dead father to take care of their home.
This publication was informed that the deceased and his wife Lalita Lall, would usually sleep over by the house, however, on Old Year’s night Roopnarine reportedly insisted that he would like to sleep alone in the house and asked his wife to remain home.
According to Lalita Lall, before leaving, her husband asked her for money to purchase alcohol.
She further related that she did gave him the money and around 4:00 am New Year’s morning when she visited her daughter’s house she found him lying motionless.
An alert was raised and police were summoned to the scene.
The dead man’s wife also told the media that her husband was suffering from high blood pressure.
Lall’s body was removed and taken to the Suddie Public Hospital where doctors certified him dead. An autopsy will be conducted on his body to ascertain his real cause of death.
No marks of violence were reportedly found.
