Embattled GDF rank accused of interfering with relatives of murdered Agricola Woman

 [www.inewsguyana.com] – The commencement of the Preliminary Inquiry (PI) for Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Private Abiola Jacobs will commence on May 6 before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

On Monday, March 24 during her third appearance at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, Police Prosecutor, Bharat Mangru told the Chief Magistrate the accused has been making contacts with the relatives of the deceased via letters and phone calls.

However, the Chief Magistrate advised Jacobs’ Attorney, Adrian Thompson to advise his client to desist from making contact if any has been made.

Jacobs – a 22 – year – old resident of Evan Phillips Park, Agricola, East Bank Demerara – is accused of murdering 55-year-old Donna Taylor on January 31 last, at Agricola Public Road, Greater Georgetown.

Police report that Taylor’s body was found aback her Agricola home on January 31, with her throat slit and her hands bound behind her. The cause of her death has been given as shock and hemorrhage due to multiple injuries. This is the official results of a post-mortem examination carried out on the body by pathologist, Dr. Nehaul Singh on February 3.

Samantha Sabat, Taylor’s friend who was a guest at her home at time of the incident, was injured when she jumped from the window of the Lot 16/17 two-storey house in Agricola after persons had invaded the property.

Sabat, a citizen of the United Kingdom, was hospitalised after she was found lying unconscious in the yard with bruises about her body, particularly her head.

She has since been discharged from hospital, and has allegedly gone into hiding.
