Ninety-seven-year-old Harold Fairweather, the eldest child of the world’s oldest citizen, supercentenarian, Violet Mosse Brown, passed away quietly at his home in Jamaica a short while ago, according to a report by Jamaica Observer Online, earlier today.
Fairweather, according to a close family member, was hypertensive and died about an hour ago following a short illness, the report stated.
His mother, Mosse Brown, affectionately called Aunt V, was born on March 10, 1900.
On Saturday, the same day Fairweather celebrated his 97th birthday, she became the oldest person on earth, after the passing of the previous oldest, Italian Emma Morano, who was born on November 29, 1899.
Morano died at her home in Verbania, northern Italy, as the last survivor of the 19th century, reports said.
Meanwhile, Aunt V, who now has four children alive, is not yet informed of the passing of her eldest child, who shared the same residence with his mother.
