Eight persons questioned in Crum-Ewing’s murder, investigations ongoing

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Eight persons were arrested and questioned into the murder of Political Activist, Courtney Crum-Ewing, who was gunned down on March, 10, at Third Avenue, Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara.

A media release from the police stated that those questioned were subsequently released; however the police are actively questioning persons from the community and scrutinizing video footage as the investigation continues.

Crum-Ewing was assassinated while urging residents of Diamond to vote for the Opposition Coalition at the upcoming May 11, 2015 general and regional elections.

Nigel Hughes, Chairman of the Alliance for Change (AFC) and Attorney – at – Law for the late political Activist, said a reward will be offered for information leading to the arrest of Crum-Ewing’s killers.

This is another avenue that is being explored by Crum-Ewing’s family in an effort to bring his killers to justice. The man’s family has also rendered the service of a private investigator into his killing, since they have expressed lack of confidence in the police in this regard.

  4. The plenty people pushing / cocaine has tugs like Shawn Hinds,Horse,Roger Khan, and the list go on, look at the list of crabs getting arrested at JFK alone for the cream of the crop Coke. The AG will have his hands full come May when Guyana will see justice for all the crimes these ticks did,the Agri minister for eg, the lindo creek,and so many more. A lot of ppl will be runing very soon.

  5. Nigel Hughes, Are you not protecting the murderer? The PNC-AFC know fully well who removed the pawn. How many votes would the PNC-AFC get from that sacrifice? the answer is none! The only thing that they will get is protest by their own with hopes of making Guyana looks bad. Guyanese are intelligent People. we became very smart under the PNC rule, we were about to be starved! Where every Guyanese were labeled as criminal for eating channa, potato, dhall, etc. etc.
    Nigel Hughes, Your PNC thug confess to be the only person that was with the pawn in the area of sacrifice. your PNC-AFC thug said he didn’t realize that the crum started already. In short Mr. Hughes, the Police need to arrest the only man who knows where he was at the time.
