The Ministry of Education today issued a media statement in relation to the changes to the upcoming National Grade Six Assessment.
The Ministry has noted that changes made to the assessment relate only to the layout of question papers and answer sheets and not the structure or format of the questions on the question paper.
The statement follows:
NEW LAYOUT FOR NGSA 2016
The Ministry of Education wishes to inform the public that specimen papers were prepared and distributed prior to the commencement of the new term to all Regions to familiarise pupils with the new layout of the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA).
Please be advised that changes made to the assessment relate only to the layout of question paper and answer sheets and not the structure or format of the questions on the question paper.
The Guyana Learning Channel is expected to air a special programme to further familiarise pupils with the layout.
Approximately 14,500 candidates are expected to sit the NGSA on Wednesday, April 27 and Thursday April 28, 2016.
Parents of candidates preparing to take the assessments are asked to note the following timetable and that same was already sent to all schools:
