PPP’S EASTER MESSAGE 2017
The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) extends Easter greetings to every Guyanese, more particularly, our Christian brothers and sisters. The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ remains two of the most inspiring phenomena of selfless sacrifice, hope and salvation in human history.
The significance of these events are well-known, not only to Christians but to Guyanese of all religions and ethnicities. Hence, the celebration of Easter in our country presents a great expression of national and racial unity.
Events such an Easter, because of its significance, must be occasions when we renew our resolve to continue to struggle against those who view our freedoms as inconvenient obstacles; re-commit ourselves to regain our democratic rights and freedoms and renew our pledge to work for a better life for all of our people.

On the occasion of the observance of the National Holiday to mark the Christian festival of Easter, the People’s National Congress Reform sends out Easter Greetings to all Guyanese, more especially to the Christian community.
As we raise our kites and watch them soar into the boundless blue sky let us remember the message of Easter that has remained the same over two thousand years. The message from the life works and words of Jesus Christ which tells us to do good in the face of evil, to love each other as God loves us and to forgive so that we may be forgiven.
At this Eastertide, the PNCR urges each and every citizen of Guyana to reflect on this message and to begin the task of building a cohesive society. It is written in the Holy Bible that, “with love in our hearts and a willingness to forgive, everything is possible”.
Let us consider this Easter as a time to begin the process of healing the wounds that all of us might have in one way or another helped to inflict upon our country. As our kites take to the sky let us strengthen our determination to be united and to play our part towards building greater trust and cooperation between our communities and achieving social cohesion at all levels throughout our beautiful country.
