[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 33 – year – old man of East La Penitence, Georgetown, was remanded to prison for the offences of discharging a loaded firearm, robbery under arms and intent to murder.
Sherwin Borrow pleaded not guilty to all the charges before Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Particulars of the first charge stated that on June 13 at East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, with intent to maim, disfigure or cause harm, he unlawfully and maliciously discharged a loaded firearm towards Kellon Hinds also called Baige.
It is also alleged that on June 12 at East Ruimveldt, being armed with a gun he robbed Hinds of a 300 penny weight gold chain, a 150 penny weight gold band together valued $3.6M.
He is also accused of attempting to murder Hinds. The fourth charge alleged that on December 03 at Agricola, East Bank Demerara, being armed with a gun, he robbed Ganesh Estick of one BLU cellular phone, one gold band, one gold chain and $10,000 cash, together valued $460,000.
The unrepresented man told the Court that he was placed on over 15 identification parade and was never identified as the suspect by any of the victims.
Bail was refused and the case was transferred before Magistrate Judy Latchman on January 5, 2015.
