Two men who were slapped with a larceny charge appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Tuesday.
Both men pleaded not guilty to the charge when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Keon Paul Simpson, 25, of McKenzie, Linden; and Alpho Orlando Felix, 27, of Number 22 Village, West Coast Berbice (WCB), are accused of stealing a 13208 Engine value G$3.1 million.
The Prosecution is contending that on June 23, at Roraima, Berbice River, the duo stole the engine, the property of the Bauxite Company of Guyana.
Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones had no objections to bail being granted to the duo since the stolen item was recovered.
Jones told the court that the defendants admitted to the offence and led Police to where it was hidden.
Both defendants were granted bail in the sum of G$50,000 each and will return to the Kwakwani Magistrate’s Court on July 15.
