[www.inewsguyana.com] – Thirty one – year – old owner of the Liquid Love Bar located at Station Street, Kitty, Georgetown was placed on her own recognizance by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry when she appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer to two charges.
Savita Sattaur pleaded not guilty to the charges, one of which alleged that on Wednesday, February 12 at Station Street, Kitty she had a quantity of alcoholic beverages which included Stag, Corona, Banks and Heineken Beers, Guinness and Makeson without a valid license.
Particulars of the other charge detailed that being the occupier of the shop, she was not licensed to sell wine or malt, which were found in the Bar. Police Prosecutor Michael Grant told the Court that Police were on raid for unlicensed alcohol businesses, when they found the mentioned alcoholic beverages at her business place. Her licensed was expired at the time of the raid.
Meanwhile, 48 – year – old Ravindra Samaroo of Station Street, Kitty was also charged for selling alcoholic beverages.
He pleaded guilty to the offence which alleged that on the same day, he also had a quantity of Guinness, Heineken, and Banks Beer among other alcoholic beverages.
He will return to Court on Friday, February 14 for sentencing. Sattaur’s case was put off to February 26.
