Thirty – one – year old Merwin Branfield and 28 – year – old Troy Mangal, both of 2nd Avenue Bartica appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman charged with the offense of simple larceny.
Particulars of the offence stated that on June 21 at Bartica they stole one Truck which valued $1.5M property of Platinum Service Station.
Branfield pleaded not guilty to the offence and was placed on $200,000 bail. However, Mangal who has pending matters in court was not required to plead to the charge and was remanded to prison.
The matter was then transferred before Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry who told both accused that they are to return to court on July 11. [Royan Abrams]
