[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 21 – year – old Gold Miner, Rafael Dannis, of Grant Anna Regina , Lower Pomeroon was allegedly stabbed to death Monday night at around 22:00 hours during a scuffle with another man in a boat near a shop not far from his home.
According to reports, the young miner and his attacker were in a boat on the Pomeroon River heading to a shop, not far from where they live, to imbibe when the incident occurred.
According to the father of the dead miner, Kevin Dannis he was in bed sleeping when his brother – in – law and his son came home and told him what had happened.
He recalled his brother – in – law was saying “come and see what Jagan do with Singh.” According to the father he did not take the matter serious and said if something is wrong why not carry him to the hospital.
Danns realized that it was a matter for serious concern when his daughter went and checked on her brother and discovered that he had no pulse and started to scream.
He then rushed to examine his son and subsequently rushed him by boat to Charity. The father said the matter was reported to the Police as doctors pronounced his son dead on arrival at the Charity Hospital.
According to the father his son was stabbed in his left chest with a sharp instrument. Police are currently in the Pomeroon investigating and are on the hunt for the killer.
Police said this morning that they were investigating the alleged murder of Danns.
Police investigations have so far have revealed that Danns and another man were imbibing, during which an argument ensued and he was allegedly stabbed to his chest, police say.
