[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 23 – year – old driver was on Thursday placed on $1M bail by Magistrate Judy Latchman on a cause of death by dangerous driving charge.
Dwayne Loaffe of Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara, pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on September 26 at Harunni, Public Road, Soesdyke, he drove motor van GMM 2065 in a manner dangerous to the public thereby causing the death of Delisa Gonsalves.
The defendant was also charged with carrying a person in tray of the van without a written permission from respective authority.
Loaffe pleaded guilty to this change and was fine $20,000 with an alternative of 14 days in imprisonment.
The prosecution facts were not revealed to the Court by Police Prosecutor, Vishnu Hunt. The prosecutor also did not oppose the pretrial liberty of the defendant.
The matter was adjourned to October 19, for next schedule court hearing.
