Former People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) Parliamentarian, Dr Max Hanoman is tipped to become the new Chairman of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) Board of Directors.
This was confirmed by Public Health Minister, Dr George Norton who stated that the Government has identified Hanoman as its frontrunner for the position though, he said, the decision was not final.
Dr Noel Blackman, who was appointed Chairman of the GPHC on December 31, 2015, was recently arrested and charged in the United States for illegally writing a large number of prescriptions for a narcotic-based painkiller.
Following Dr Blackman’s arrest, Dr Norton had publicly declared that he was “disappointed” that the newly-appointed GPHC Chairman has been arrested and charged with illegally issuing prescriptions for a powerful painkiller in New York.
Dr Hanoman who is a PNC stalwart, is the former Medical Director of the University of Guyana’s School of Medicine and currently operates the Dr Max Hanoman Medical Centre.
How do you know he will not be able to contribute anything as chairman of GPHC? What do you know about the responsibilities of that position? Your post is simply an opinion without facts.
Dr Hanoman tipped to replace Dr Blackman as GPHC Chairman
Another PNC youth man hired lol
And the drug procurement contract goes to ……
The hospital uniform contract goes to …..
The medical supplies contract goes to …….
You must remember this is solely a political appointment. You don’t necessarily have to be qualified or have to do anything. When somebody dies due to negligence, you simply say you will investigate and that never happens. Even Max Hanoman can do that.
I was really hoping to see Dr. Surendra Persaud in the highlights as he had braved it with an Ad for the Gov’t!
What this doctor can contribute to GPHC? We have no second thought about his medical skills as a physician and also the teaching faculty but I don’t think that he can contribute something to GPHC as a chairman of the corporation.
